Opiod abuse and workers’ comp

Human Resource Executive Online recently published an article highlighting a study showing little drop in workers’ comp related opiod abuse. Often prescribed by doctors for pain after an injury, interlining supplier long-term use can lead to addiction and result in a worker needing extended leave in addition to other medical problems.

According to the article, a new study — Longer-Term Use of Opioids, 2nd Edition — from the Workers Compensation Research Institute finds that, “so far, there appears to have been minimal reduction in the prevalence of longer-term opioid Vilene Interlining use in the 25 states that were studied.”

According to Lev Ginsburg, The Business Council’s director of government affairs, the business community has warned lawmakers that policies in the workers’ compensation system, and the health system in general, were leading to opioid addiction and other long-term health detriments among employees.

While programs like I-STOP in New York have worked to combat opioid abuse Lainiere De Picardie Interlining, an unforeseen consequence is that the use of heroin, which is cheaper and more readily available, has risen.

Ginsburg says, “Negative outcomes can result from some health policies. There is little debate that insurance mandates lead to the overuse of healthcare and lead to ballooning costs, but also, sometimes to unhealthy results.”

Larson Electronics Releases a 70 Watt Explosion Proof LED Light with an Adjustable Scaffold Bracket Mount

Larson Electronics announces the release of a 70 watt explosion proof LED light fixture mounted on an adjustable scaffold bracket. The light head produces 5,800 lumens of LED manufacturer and is attached to an aluminum rail mount bracket that allows operators to easily mount this unit to ladders, handrails, and catwalks.

The EPL-JHLP-70LED bracket mounted LED fixture is weatherproof and comes with an adjustable aluminum scaffold mount that makes it ideal for industrial applications, maintenance, and large hazardous work areas. The 70 watt LED lamp produces illumination equivalent to a typical 400 watt halogen bulb while drawing only 70 watts on a 120V AC power source. The LED lamp runs cooler than a 400 watt halogen, resulting in an easier to manage light source with less heat produced in the work area.

The lamp assembly includes a 70 watt LED lamp, internal driver and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a powder coat finish. The lens is constructed of thermal shock wholesale LED tube lights and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints. The solid state LEDs in this unit have no filament and are highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts. The T10 LED Tube Lights is highly durable and produces high light in a wide flood pattern. The lamp is mounted to an aluminum bracket with an adjustable J-hook bottom bracket that enables operators to securely mount the light to any ladder or scaffolding. This unit is supplied with 100’ of 16/3 SOOW cord ending in an explosion proof straight blade plug.

“The adjustable mounting system allows it to be mounted to ladders, handrails, catwalks, and other structures for optimum output of light around the work area.”

Larson Electronics carries an extensive line of LED light towers, portable power distribution systems, explosion proof lights for hazardous locations, portable work lights and industrial grade LED area lights.
